Uganda is at the heart of Africa and presents itself as very friendly to visitors and full of wonder and encounter once in the wild. Uganda is an unspoiled destination, because it has never suffered the mass tourism of Kenya and Tanzania. The people are friendly and welcoming by nature, and there is plenty of opportunity to get out of the vehicle and explore on foot and to interact with the locals.
Are you planning to go for a vacation holiday in Uganda, gorilla safaris tours is one of the best companies to help you explore Uganda as a whole. Whether you are looking forward to visiting the different national parks like going on a mountain gorilla trek to see them in the wild, your first time traveling to Uganda will mesmerize you. Safer than the media portrays and with some of the friendliest people on the planet, this country offers beautiful green countryside, organic food, and a mild climate. Make sure you sit with the people and take time to engage them in conversation.
Uganda is an emerging tourist destination compared to its neighbors. Independent travel is definitely more possible here compared to the other locations and it is much cheaper. If you’re going on safari, choose your company and accommodation wisely, it’s a real mixed bag.
Game densities in some places are very good, but here, you have to work a little harder to spot your game than in other, more popular destinations. Also, top end accommodation can be hard to find in certain areas. However, Uganda has a beguiling charm, and will get under your skin. At the end of a multi-country African safari, Uganda will linger as one of your fondest memories, sometimes for reasons you can’t quite put your finger on.
If you want a knowledgeable and well-connected insider to navigate you through the beauty that can be discovered in the Pearl of Africa, Jackie is your best bet. Jackie has been running gorilla safaris tours for a solid five years now and she makes the most of that experience when she manages your trip. I have now met most of the safari guides and drivers that she regularly works with and they are all well-educated local Ugandans.
This trip, we worked with Emma our guide and he was personable and full of great tales and travel sensibilities to help us get to the places we needed to go. We spent most of our time with Emma and I would gladly have him host us again. We felt that we were completely pampered by the lodges that Jackie chose for us, especially Rushaga Gorillas Camp. This was an experience to which I can easily give my highest level of praise.
The gorilla trekking was fantastic. Everything I wanted from that trip and more. Jackie booked us at Rushaga Gorillas Camp, which was the best we’ve been to in over 10 years of travel to Uganda, and I can’t say enough about the quality of the food, thank you Chef!
We opted for 2 porters I’m 60, it seemed wise, they carried our packs and lunches and helped me when I needed it and they encouraged me all the way. It was important to them that I got my wish. I hurt my knee trekking and required the “Ugandan Helicopter Ride” out, as our driver Emma called it.
Another wise choice so as not to ruin the rest of my vacation. The cost was steep but worth it. Ten men taking turns carrying me out, $30 each seemed a low cost by the end of the ride. They were fast! The one thing I wanted from this trip was a selfie with a Silver back and boy did I get my wish.
Thank you Jackie, you took care of every detail and we never had a concern. Our driver Emma told us all about the tribes and areas we traveled thru and always came through for us. He has a great sense of humor and is very knowledgeable which helps so much when interacting with people. I was most concerned with offending people, but he always knew what would be misunderstood or just not appropriate.
The Entebbe Wildlife Center, behind the scene tour should also not be missed! The Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari was spectacular as well! Jackie arranged for a tracker for our safari, James, who found the lions by their radio collars. I’m so glad Jackie thought of it, I’d have never thought to ask. We are already thinking of our next trip! Thank you Gorilla Safaris Tours.
